Cookie Policy
The cookies we set on this website and in the Tropic Arts platform, what each one does, and how you can control them.
Effective September 24, 2026
This Cookie Policy lists the cookies, and the other information kept in your browser, that Tropic Arts LLC ("Tropic Arts," "we," "us," or "our") uses on our own website at tropic-arts.com and in the Tropic Arts website-building platform (the "Service"). A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep; your browser's "local storage" and "session storage" work in a similar way, so they are listed here too. How we handle personal information more generally is explained in our Privacy Policy.
The Short Version
- We use no analytics cookies, and no cookies from Google, Meta or any other advertising network, on our website or in the Service.
- Almost everything we set either keeps you signed in or remembers a choice you made.
- Our website sets one marketing cookie, and only if you allow marketing cookies in its cookie banner.
- Our count of visits to the website uses no cookies and no browser storage at all.
On Our Website
- ev_consent — remembers what you chose in our cookie banner, so it doesn't ask again on every page. Strictly necessary. Kept for 365 days, with a copy of the same choice in your browser's local storage.
- ta_first_touch — records which campaign or website first brought you to us, so we can see which of our marketing leads to sign-ups. Marketing: set only if you allow marketing cookies, and deleted if you later refuse them or when you create an account. Kept for 30 days, and readable only by our servers, never by a script on a web page. What it holds is described under "How You Found Us" in our Privacy Policy.
In the Service
Strictly necessary. The Service does not work without these:
- endeavor_session — keeps you signed in. It ends after 24 hours without activity and 14 days after you sign in at the latest.
- domain_intent — carries a domain name you chose in our website's domain search through sign-up and card setup, so it is still waiting for you at the end. Kept for 2 hours.
- ev_unlock_ followed by a site's id — set on a site's own address when you open a preview of a site that isn't live yet, so you can see it past its "Opening Soon" page. Kept for 8 hours.
Preferences. These remember how you like to work:
- console_site — the site you last selected. Kept for one year.
- appt_cal_tab, appt_cal_day, appt_cal_hide_canceled and appt_cal_show_service — how you last left the appointments calendar. Kept for one year.
- req_open_support and req_open_changes — whether you chose to see only open requests. Kept for one year.
- console_nav_panel — whether you keep the navigation panel open. Kept for one year.
- Your browser's local storage also keeps the width of the page editor's side panels and how you left the inbox's panels.
Services From Other Companies
- Google Fonts. Our website and the Service load typefaces from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details with each request. Google says these requests carry no cookies and are not linked to a Google account.
- Stripe. When you add a payment card or set up payments for your store, you complete that step on pages hosted by Stripe, our payment processor, which uses its own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Mapbox. When a site you are editing shows a map, the map loads from Mapbox, which keeps an anonymous identifier in your browser's local storage to measure how its maps are used.
The Websites Our Customers Build
Sites built on the Service belong to their owners, who decide what those sites use; each site's own cookie banner and privacy policy describe it. Depending on the features its owner turns on, a site can use cookies or browser storage for its cookie banner (ev_consent), its shopping cart, saved favorites (endeavor_fav), a preview password (ev_unlock_ followed by the site's id), an age check, recent searches, and maps from Mapbox. If a site's owner adds analytics or advertising tags, such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel, that site's banner asks for your permission for them.
Your Choices
- On our website, the link labeled Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of our pages opens your cookie preferences, so you can allow or refuse marketing cookies at any time. Refusing them deletes ta_first_touch. Turning off Analytics there also leaves your visits out of our count.
- Your browser lets you see and delete cookies and browser storage, and block them for any site. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in to the Service.
- We don't change what we do in response to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals; our website's only non-essential cookie waits for your permission either way.
Changes to This Policy
When the cookies we use change, we update this policy and the effective date above.
